West Haven Sailors Defeats Simsbury Sabercats In Pitcher's Duel

Both teams were strong on the bump on Sunday, but the West Haven Sailors defeated the Simsbury Sabercats 3-1. Steve Cifarelli started the game for West Haven and recorded 12 outs.

West Haven opened the scoring in the first after Tim Capp singled, scoring one run.

Selander hit a sacrifice fly, which helped Simsbury tie the game at one in the bottom of the second.

In the top of the sixth inning, West Haven went back into the lead after Derek Porto doubled to left field, and Zachary Rider doubled down the left field line, each scoring one run.

Kyle Egidio earned the win for West Haven Sailors. The pitcher allowed zero hits and zero runs over two and one-third innings, striking out one and walking one.
