There were fireworks aplenty in the matchup between the Sailors and Black Knights Friday night which saw West Haven come out victorious in a 11-7 final. The Sailors scored over half of their runs in the first inning, quickly setting the tone.

After the game’s first out, West Haven had five consecutive batters reach base. Kyle Justo’s RBI single brought home the game’s first run. Senior Ryan Slack went yard to left field for a three-run shot, giving West Haven a 4-0 lead. Three batters later, shortstop Derek Porto sent a two-run homer to left field to plate the fifth and sixth runs of the first frame.
