Tyler Hodella Signs With Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs

After a strong showing with the West Haven Sailors, right-handed pitcher Tyler Hodella is heading to the next level. The University of Bridgeport pitcher has signed with the Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL), continuing his development against high-level summer competition.

Hodella made the most of his time with the Sailors, tossing 8.1 innings while facing 34 batters. He posted a perfect 2-0 record, allowing just 1 earned run on 5 hits and 4 walks, and striking out 10. He leaves West Haven with a 0.84 ERA, 1.080 WHIP, and a .185 opponent batting average — a dominant stretch that caught the attention of coaches at the next level.

During his 2025 spring season at the University of Bridgeport, Hodella appeared in 16 games, going 1-0 with 1 save. He logged 19.2 innings and struck out 13, continuing to prove his value as a reliable arm out of the bullpen.
