Tim Capp collected three hits in three at bats, as the West Haven Sailors defeated the Western Mass Pioneers 6-1 on Tuesday at Spec Pond Recreation Area. Capp doubled in the first inning, doubled in the fifth inning, and doubled in the seventh inning.
West Haven got on the board in the top of the first inning after Capp doubled to center field. A single by Ryan Slack extended the Sailors lead to 4-0 in the top of the third inning.

Jesse Buonocore earned the win for the Sailors. The starting pitcher allowed two hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out nine and walking two. Bailey Griggs took the loss for the Pioneers. The right-handed pitcher went three innings, surrendering four runs on four hits, striking out three and walking two.
Slack led West Haven with four runs batted in. The infielder went 2-for-2 on the day.
The Sailors play at home on Thursday against the GoldStar Generals in their next game.
