Tenney and Spad Bring Home West Haven’s POTW Awards

It was a busy week for the Sailors as they contested in five games from June 28 to July 3. Two players in particular stood out and made a difference for the club as they tallied to wins on the week.
Sophomore right hander Collin Tenney earned Pitcher of the Week for West Haven after he tossed five innings while allowing one earned run and striking out four, sporting a 1.80 ERA in the process.
Mike Spad won West Haven’s Player of the Week after going 3/4 with a pair of singles, a triple, two runs scored and adding an RBI. Spad boasted a .750/.750/1.250 slashline during the week for the Sailors, asserting himself as a fierce bat in their lineup.
The upcoming week sees the Sailors prepare for three games, starting Wednesday evening vs. Hamden in a home matchup. Tenney and Spad aim to continue their good stretch of play and keep the Sailors in the win column.
