Steve Cifarelli Signs with the Westfield Starfires of the FCBL

After a strong summer with the West Haven Sailors, right-handed pitcher Steve Cifarelli is set to join the FCBL. The Orange, Connecticut native — a graduate of Amity High School, rising junior at Springfield College, and current Sailors standout — has signed with the Westfield Starfires for the remainder of the 2025 summer season.

Cifarelli was a workhorse for West Haven, appearing in 10 games and making 4 starts. Over 33 innings, he earned 3 wins without a loss, recorded 3 saves in 3 opportunities, and struck out 55 batters. Opponents hit just .168 against him, and he finished the summer with a 1.909 ERA and 1.061 WHIP while facing 142 batters.

Now joining the Starfires, Cifarelli will look to carry his dominant summer performance into FCBL competition. “Steve gave us everything you could ask for — reliability, poise, and the ability to finish games,” said Sailors owner Tim Binkoski. “He’s been outstanding for us, and we’re excited to see him continue his summer in Westfield.”
