Sailors Pick Up Second Consecutive Win, Cifarelli Records Four RBIs in Offensive Surge

It would have been assumed the game would not see plenty of offense as West Haven and Hamden were tied at one after three innings. That was the case until the Sailors exploded for a combined 10 runs in the fourth and fifth innings on their way to an 11-1 win.
West Haven scored first after a bases-loaded walk of Brady O’Neil. Hamden would tie the game in the bottom of the third, however, the Sailors bats didn’t keep the game tied for long.
The top of the fourth saw an Anthony Lucibello fielder’s choice and Luke Anderson RBI single help West Haven grab a 3-1 lead. Senior Steve Cifarelli, who knocked two hits on the day, went deep to drive in another three runs in the inning.
The fifth inning saw five different Sailors record an RBI single. Zach Rider, Brady O’Neil, Sean Cleary, Luke Anderson and Cifarelli each contributed in the frame to give the team a comfortable 10 run lead as the game would be called due to mercy.
After three consecutive road games, West Haven hosts their final home game of the regular season Wednesday night vs. Bridgeport.
