West Haven Sailors pitcher Jack Hawes is taking the next step in his baseball journey. The sophomore right-hander from Orange, Connecticut, has signed with the Bristol Blues of the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL), joining one of the region’s top summer leagues.

Hawes was a key part of the Sailors’ pitching staff this summer, making five starts and throwing 16.2 innings. He faced 77 batters and posted a 1-0 record, allowing just 3 earned runs on 15 hits and 8 walks while striking out 21. Hawes finished his time in West Haven with an impressive 1.26 ERA, 1.38 WHIP, and a .224 opponent batting average, stranding 18 runners along the way.

Now heading to the NECBL, Hawes will look to continue his success on the mound with the Bristol Blues. “We’re incredibly proud of Jack and everything he accomplished with us this summer,” said Sailors owner Tim Binkoski. “He is a competitor. We’re excited for him and wish him continued success in Bristol.”
